Conservative campaign for North Yorkshire County Council Elections is launched
The Conservative Campaign for the North Yorkshire County Council elections on 4 June 2009 has been launched.
Shadow Children, Schools and Families Secretary Michael Gove joined with candidates for the County Council elections from across North Yorkshire to reveal the Party’s manifesto in Easingwold.
Cllr John Weighell, Conservative leader on North Yorkshire County Council, said:
“With the Conservatives, North Yorkshire residents can be confident of getting a low taxing council delivering the high quality services they need.
“Our policies on key issues like educating our children and caring for the elderly will make a real difference to the lives of residents across this great County.
“By voting Conservative, local people will help make North Yorkshire an even better place to live, work and do business.”
Shadow Children’s Secretary Michael Gove added:

“The excellent policies put forward in this manifesto make the Conservative Party the ideal choice for North Yorkshire.
“A great education and quality schools are a top priority and Conservatives have a proven track record of success at delivering the best possible results for young people across the county.”
After the launch, Michael Gove accompanied North Yorkshire County Council Cabinet members on a visit to Easingwold School where he met with students, staff and the head teacher.
